Varanan · Saaransh, Prashna and Chhaya

In one line

Most of Varanan needs no account at all. Your recording, your documents and your scans are used for the one job you asked for and then they go away. If you choose to sign in to use credit, we keep your name, your email and a record of your credit — and the people who run this site still never see what you said, uploaded, asked or got back.

What we ask you for

To use Varanan for free, nothing about you. Meetings, and documents and scans up to the free page limit, need no sign-up, no email address and no phone number. The only personal details are the attendee names you choose to type before a meeting, which exist only so they can appear in your own Minutes of Meeting.

If you sign in to use credit on longer documents or scans, you do it with your Google account. Google tells us your name, your email address and an account number; we never see your Google password. We keep those, your credit balance, and a statement of every top-up and every charge.

If you buy credit, you pay on Razorpay’s own page. We receive the amount and a payment reference — never your card, UPI or bank details.

If you donate, that happens inside your own UPI app. We never see your card, bank or UPI credentials, and a donation is not linked to anything you uploaded.

Your meeting recording

  • It travels to us over an encrypted connection.
  • On the server it is converted and split into short pieces so Sarvam AI can transcribe it.
  • The audio is deleted as soon as the job finishes — whether it succeeded or failed. We keep no copy.
  • The transcript and the minutes are held in the server’s memory for two hours, so you can read, copy, share or download them. They are never written to disk, and a restart clears them sooner.
  • After that the meeting is gone and we cannot bring it back — so save or share your minutes before you close the page.

Your document

  • The file is read by Sarvam AI so its text, tables and layout can be understood, and translated into English first if it is in a language the model does not read directly.
  • The original file is deleted the moment its text has been read.
  • The text, and the questions and answers that follow, are kept for 30 days so you can come back to your link — then they are erased automatically.
  • Nobody can browse to your document. It opens only through its own unguessable link, so treat that link the way you would treat the document itself. If you were signed in, it belongs to your account and even the link won’t open it for anyone else.

Your scanned pages

  • The photos you take are turned into a PDF on the server and then dropped — they are never saved, not even briefly on disk.
  • The finished PDF is kept for 24 hours so you can download it, and is then deleted automatically.
  • If you asked for the text to be made searchable, Sarvam AI reads the pages and the words are written invisibly into the PDF, over the picture. Nothing about what it read is kept afterwards.
  • Download your PDF while you have it — we cannot make it again.

Who else sees it

Sarvam AI, an Indian AI provider, which transcribes, reads, translates and answers on our instruction. Your content is sent for that purpose and no other.

Only if you use them: Google, when you sign in (it learns that you signed in to Varanan), and Razorpay, when you pay (it handles the payment). Neither ever receives a recording, a document or a scan.

It is not used to train any model. It is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never handed to anyone else — unless a law compels us, which has not happened.

What the people running this site can see

They see a bill, not a conversation. Their dashboard shows:

For account holders it also shows your name, your email, your balance and your statement — lines like “Read a 12-page document”, never which document and never anything in it. A paid service has to be able to answer “where did my credit go?”.

  • For a meeting: how long the audio was, which language the minutes were written in, how many people were listed, and what Sarvam charged.
  • For a document: its type, language, page count, size, how many questions were asked, and what Sarvam charged.
  • For a scan: how many pages it had, how big the PDF was, whether you asked for the text to be read, and what Sarvam charged.
  • For the site as a whole: how many visits there were each day, the totals by page, device, country and referring app, and — for the last 48 hours only — those same details visit by visit.
  • A few all-time totals — how many meetings, documents and scans there have been, and what they have cost — are also shown publicly on the site. They are site-wide sums; nothing in them relates to any one person.

They cannot see, and the software does not offer them:

  • any audio, transcript or Minutes of Meeting;
  • any attendee’s name, or the name of any file you upload;
  • any document’s text, any question you ask, or any answer you receive;
  • any page you scanned, or the PDF built from it.

This is enforced in the server itself — the admin screens are served data that never contains those things, rather than being asked politely to hide them. The alerts that tell the owner the site is being used, or that costs are rising, carry counts and amounts only.

Cookies and tracking

  • No advertising, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts — even the fonts are served from this site.
  • We do count visits, on our own server: which page was opened, whether it was a phone or a computer, which country it came from, and which app or site the link came from. Daily totals are kept; the most recent two days are also listed one visit at a time, so we can see the site being used, and that list is erased as it ages. Neither holds your address, your name, or anything that could point back to you.
  • Your network address is used once, against a database held on this same server, to work out the country. It is not written down, and it is not sent to anyone.
  • No cookie is set unless you sign in. If you do, one cookie keeps you signed in (for 30 days, or until you sign out), and a second, for ten minutes, protects the round trip to Google. The owner’s admin page has its own sign-in cookie. To tell one visit apart from two page views, your browser holds a random number that is erased the moment you close the tab.
  • Your browser remembers your own name for the attendees box, and the details of the last recording problem in case you ask for help. Both stay on your device and you can clear them by clearing site data.
  • Like any website, our server keeps short-lived request logs (IP address, time, page) to keep the site up and to stop abuse.

Please upload only what is yours to upload

You are responsible for having the right to process what you bring here — recording a meeting usually means telling the people in it. If material is confidential in a way that forbids sending it to an AI provider, this is not the right place for it.

Your choices

  • A meeting: close the page when you are done. It expires on its own within two hours.
  • A document: simply stop using the link and it is erased on schedule.
  • A scan: download the PDF and it looks after itself — the copy on the server expires within hours.
  • Want it gone sooner? Ask us and it will be erased immediately.
  • Your account: ask us to delete it and we will — any unused credit is refunded as our refund policy describes. Records of payments are kept for as long as Indian tax law requires, even after the account is gone.

Changes to this page

If any of this changes, this page changes with it and the date below moves. We will not quietly start keeping things for longer.
